Raquel Benitez has worked in a variety of academic and professional positions in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Her strengths are based on her ability to conceive, create and develop audiovisual properties. Her expertise and comprehensive knowledge of specialized markets enable her to research and formulate viable properties and rights options. Raquel holds two Master’s degrees in Computer Animation and Broadcasting, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Communications, and has several CIC diplomas. She has written software programs, books and university curricula that are considered to be the industry standard. Her most recent book El Proceso de la Animación is the first animation book written in Spanish about the development of an animation idea from concept to production to sales.She is a much sought -after guest speaker at universities and international conferences and has received accolades for her work as creator, producer, executive producer and director on many award-wining animated films and television shows. One of her professional distinctions includes being a member of the Canadian Picture Pioneers, ASIFA and EGEDA.
Has coordinated, produced, and directed numerous remarkable international projects in film features and animation, television, print and digital media for over 17 years. Prior to co-founding Comet Entertainment Inc, Carmen worked for several prestigious film companies, such as the major BRB International. She joined BRB International in 1995, during the production of Historia de Canarias. There, she also co-ordinated and worked on the production of a number of other features and series, including The New World of the Gnomes which received the MIDIA Award for Best Animated series.Of her many accomplishments, Carmen is particularly proud of having created the International Department at Estudios Abaira, and for being the first director to hold this position.Carmen served as co-director of Ani Mar Festival of Audio Visual Creation (Mallorca, Spain). She has appeared as a guest speaker at several North American and European colleges. She is also credited for the creation and delivery of a university program curriculum.An award-winning film maker, Carmen is the recipient of numerous industry awards, such as the best animated short given by the SGAE , and the Juror’s Prize at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Peñiscola.She has a Master’s degree in Film and Television Production from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya as well as several related diplomas. Her cinematic expertise, together with her passion for creative teamwork and organizational effectiveness, makeher especially well-suited for her role as COO of Comet Entertainment Inc.
Is a Spanish, Canadian-based designer with more than 10 years working in the industry, Yonay has an extensive knowledge of the production process and is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience. Yonay is currently a teacher and administrator at the IMA Institute and also working on the creation and development of the videogame Paul the Whale, for Huge Dog Media and production coordinator for Comet Entertainment.
A well respected barrister and solicitor was called to the bar in 1991 in the Province of Ontario. For the past eleven years James has served as counsel to various companies in the entertainment industry, and in other fields, where he has advised on corporate structure and governance, planning and general contracts.
CA, CFP graduated from McGill University and articled in Montreal with the firm of Richter, Usher & Vineberg, rising through the ranks to become a senior audit manager. During his 10 years at RU&V, Ivan gained extensive experience in the areas of taxation, auditing and business advisory services. After moving to Toronto, he teamed with Jonathan Tucker CA in June 1999 to form the partnership of Tabac Tucker LLP.
Received his BA in Communications, and his Master’s degree in 3D animation from the Universitat de les Illes Balears, in Spain. He has worked as Creative Director for numerous advertising agencies in South America and in Spain. Harold now combines this work with the creation of cartoons for newspapers and magazines and Art Direction for animated projects on television. Among his awards are First Prize – Tires Comics de Barcelona, as well as the prestigious First Prize – Art Jove.
